Title: "Precision stellar magnetic field measurements enabled by high-resolution spectroscopy"
Abstract: Stellar magnetic fields play a key role in the formation and evolution of stars and planets. They control accretion processes, slow down stellar rotation, and ionize the atmospheres of planets orbiting them. Magnetic fields at the stellar surface are distributed across large- and small-scale structures, and observations have revealed the diversity of field topologies in low-mass stars. These observations have raised fundamental questions related to the link between large- and small-scale fields. In this talk, I present the latest efforts aimed at modeling the spectra of magnetic low-mass stars and measuring surface fields from high-resolution spectra obtained by the latest generation spectrometers, such as SPIRou or WINERED. I will emphasize on the latest discoveries enabled by the long-term monitoring of several targets.
