Title: "Cosmology, B2P, and Quantum Fluctuations"

Abstract: We present a historical introduction to a number of basic issues aimed at putting in context the recent claim of the detection of primordial gravitational waves in the cosmic microwave background. Subsequently, more specific insights on the problem of the regularization of quantum vacuum fluctuations will be provided. We finish with a discussion of the potential for BICEP2, and the newly expected results of the B2P collaboration, to fulfill our dream of getting a signal of inflation and of the Big Bang itself.
