Dr. Jean Dupuis, Canadian Space Agency
Title: "Metal Abundances in White Dwarfs Atmospheres and What We Have Learned From FUSE."
Abstract: I will present a summary of some of the work I have done with my collaborators concerning the abundance of metals in the atmospheres of white dwarfs principally from the use the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) satellite. I will focus on lower effective temperature objects that are believed to accrete from possible dusty disks. I will also described some improvements we have made in the modeling of these dusty disks. I will also give an overview of the space astronomy activities at the Canadian Space Agency.
