Title: "Conical Defects in Extra Dimensions: Motivations and Applications"

Abstract: In this presentation, I'll talk about solutions of
topological defects with angular deficit in high dimensions. The purpose
here is to show the basic ideas about the  higher dimensions framework. We
also explain compactification mechanisms and highlight
applications in cosmology and condensed matter systems.
