Join us in our celebration of the landmark 1901-1903 pressure of light experiments carried out by Ernest Nichols and Gordon Hull in Dartmouth's Wilder Laboratory. The American Physical Society has recently recognized the work of Nichols and Hull by designating the Wilder Laboratory as a Historic Site, one of only 25 such locations around the US. A group of highly distinguished scientists (including Nobel Laureate Bill Phillips) will deliver several lectures as part of this celebration on various cutting edge applications of light pressure, including the LIGO gravity wave observatory and laser fusion. The symposium will commence with two public lectures on the afternoon of October 5 --see below for details. ALL ARE WELCOME!
