I am studying a realistic physical model of a measuring apparatus, accounting explicitly for decoherence, to explain why such an apparatus exhibits a de nite measurement outcome. I have used the framework to construct a local unitary theory of the measurement of Bell-EPR correlations. This demonstrates that quantum mechanics is described by a local theory.
