James W. Logan

PhD Student in Physics and Astronomy

Inspired by my undergraduate thesis work on electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) applications to quantum simulation and quantum information, I decided to pursue similar research as a graduate student. Under Professor Chandrasekhar Ramanathan, I currently study many-body quantum dynamics of paramagnetic defects in diamond. I am most interested in quantifying and correlating the micro and mesoscale growth of entanglement in dipolar-coupled spin systems to understand how these processes will affect future solid-state quantum device architectures. Outside of research, I love to play volleyball, work on cars, play video games, and spend time with my cat, Juju.
