Professor Rimberg is an experimental condensed matter physicist focusing on the interface between quantum and classical behavior in mesoscopic systems. He has an A. B. (1986) and Ph. D. (1992) in Physics, both from Harvard University. After postdoctoral work at the University of California, Berkely, he was an Assistant Professor in Physics and Astronomy at Rice University for several years. He joined Dartmouth College in August, 2004.
