Department sponsorship for Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics

Apply *NOW* to attend the APS Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) This January

The American Physical Society (APS) CUWiP are 3-day regional conferences for self-identifying women, non-binary and genderqueer undergraduate physics majors. The conferences will be held Friday, January 17 through Sunday afternoon January 19, 2020. Our closest regional location is Yale University in New Haven, CT. The goal of APS CUWiP is to help self-identifying women, non-binary and genderqueer undergraduates to continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about graduate school and professions in physics, and access to other women/non-binary/genderqueer people in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas. The national and local organizing committees of APS CUWiP strive to create a welcoming environment for all.

If you are interested in attending, you must register here by October 4, but if you are selected the Dartmouth Physics and Astronomy department will cover your registration fee and transportation costs (lodging and meals are covered by Yale). If we have enough interest, we will coordinate group transportation down to New Haven. If you register, please do contact Profs. Jedidah Isler and Elisabeth Newton here at Dartmouth by October 4, so that we can help coordinate logistics. For more information you can visit the APS CUWiP websiteYale’s regional CUWiP site and/or the APS CUWiP FAQs.
