In June 2020, astrophysicists in the International LIGO-Virgo Collaboration discovered that there had been a collision between two objects in deep space. One of the objects was a massive black hole and the other was either the lightest-known black hole or the heaviest-known neutron star. Ryan Hickox, professor of physics and astronomy, talks about the discovery and its implications for the field of astrophysics. See the video here.
