Title: "How Do We Investigate the Electrodynamic Processes Linking Earth to Geospace?"

Abstract: Electrical currents are fundamental to the interaction between a
magnetized body (such as Earth) and the surrounding space, providing the
dominant mechanism of momentum and energy transfer between Earth and
Geospace.  These currents are dynamic and cover a large range of spatial
scales and are often filaments.  They are associated with the complex
auroral display which provide a natural reference frame.  These
properties, however, also present a considerable observational challenge
to monitor and understand the coupling between Earth and Geospace.  In
this talk we will present the observational initiatives allowing
investigations of this global coupling and discuss the limitations of
those systems.
